Carefx Awarded American Hospital Association Endorsement
Fusion solution recognized for superior performance in new category, "context management"
(Scottsdale AZ) - February 6, 2007 -- AHA Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of the American Hospital Association (AHA), awarded Carefx Corporation an exclusive AHA endorsement for its Fusion solution, in the newly created "context management" category. Fusion, which is resident in more than 200 hospitals worldwide, optimizes clinical workflow by seamlessly integrating patient information from diverse applications and databases at the user-interface level. Fusion, built on an open and scaleable platform, provides clinicians with simplified access to relevant patient data when and where it is needed.
The AHA's comprehensive selection process, which lasted nearly a year, included an extensive review of the technology platform, customers and business partners of a number of vendors. Fusion's open architecture, functionality, measurable value and commitment to customer satisfaction were cited as being superior.
"AHA is committed to helping our members identify and procure the best solutions possible for their healthcare-information technology needs," said Tim Steffl, vice president of Corporate Development at AHA Solutions, Inc. "Fusion from Carefx effectively demonstrated its prowess in helping physicians move efficiently between applications on hospital networks and thus better serve patients."
Fusion interoperates with an organizations' existing IT infrastructure, including applications, operating system, and hardware. End-users can securely sign on once to access authorized applications and intuitively navigate those applications in a manner that is conducive to their individual patient care workflow.
"We are very excited to have earned this exclusive endorsement from the AHA, and are proud to be working with their team of leaders and member hospitals," said Andrew J. Hurd, chairman and CEO of Carefx. "Together, we share the belief that a clinician's ability to deliver quality patient care should not be confined by the limitations of a disparate technology environment. Fusion delivers application interoperability - enabling the clinician's workflow to drive application performance - placing the focus where it should be - on the patient."
"The strength of Carefx was clear to us from the outset, and the result is a solution that delivers secure and simplified access to patient data," said Wayne Mills, vice president of Information Services and CIO at Trillium Health Centre, which recently implemented Fusion. "Fusion breaks down the information barrier that used to exist and enables our clinicians to deliver impeccable patient care."
