Strix Wins Metro Product of the Year 2007 Award at Netevents

(Calabasis CA and Evian France) - February 27, 2007 -- Strix Systems, the leader in high-performance wireless mesh networking, today announced it has won the NetEvents 2007 “Metro Product of the Year” Technology Leader Award for its Strix Access/One® Indoor and Outdoor Wireless Systems (IWS and OWS).

The NetEvents 2007 Technology Leader Awards were announced on Thursday, February 22, and presented by NetEvents Editorial Director Manek Dubash at a prestigious award banquet held in Evian, France, during the NetEvents European Press & Analyst Summit. The entire proceeds generated by the award ceremony are to be shared between the American Cancer Society and the Prostate Project Foundation for Cancer Research.

The judges, chosen from an independent panel of industry analysts and senior press representatives from over 30 European publications, singled out Strix for its “innovative, low-cost mesh network, offering carrier class resiliency.” Camille Mendler, vice president – Enterprise Research, Yankee Group, said, "Strix Systems disrupts traditional connectivity models, enriching communications choices for consumers and enterprises alike.”

“Receiving the NetEvents award at such a high-profile event, with so many of Europe’s top industry press representatives present, is another important recognition of our solution’s importance,” said Nan Chen, vice president of product management and marketing at Strix Systems. “Heavy Reading and Infonetics have already named Strix Systems as the worldwide market-share leader in wireless mesh networking, while Iometrix has identified us as the technology leader.”

“We’ve now raised $64,000 for these two very worthwhile charities and established these awards as among the IT industry’s most prestigious in Europe” said Mark Fox, NetEvents founder. ”We would like to thank the European press and analyst community for helping make our awards such a success. The NetEvents Technology Leader awards give valuable recognition for the winners, as they are judged by over 30 leading technology press and analysts—more than any other European technology award.”

About Strix OWS
The Strix Access/One OWS and IWS modular mesh products deliver the largest capacity (up to six radios and 768 users per node, three to six times the norm), highest throughput (five times the norm at 35 Mbps), and best scalability (users can add more radio boards, 4.9GHz, WiMAX modules, or new technologies). An independent wireless mesh test sponsored by Light Reading and completed in June 2006 found Strix’s OWS 2400-30 delivers the best throughput and capacity, the greatest scalability for voice applications, and the best mobility/roaming. Strix networks scale to 10 or more wireless hops with near-zero throughput loss and latency. Customers can deliver real-time applications with a minimum of wired connections for a given area, which reduces CapEx and OpEx.
