Dr. Wolfe has been a General Partner of UV Partners since 1989. In 1983 he co-founded Hambrecht & Quist's Life Science Ventures, perhaps the first "vertical" venture fund focused exclusively on medicine and biotechnology. Dr. Wolfe has extensive experience as a director of emerging companies.

Earlier, Dr. Wolfe was an operating manager in startup and mature medical companies, including American Hospital Supply Corporation's principal manufacturing division where his responsibilities encompassed strategic and operating planning, research and development, manufacturing, engineering, and international marketing. Dr. Wolfe holds a BA in American Civilization from Cornell University and a Doctor of Medicine from the New York University School of Medicine. His post graduate training included service as an intern, resident and Chief Resident in medicine and a research fellowship in cardiology and rheumatic diseases.

Dr. Wolfe is a member of the Board of Directors of the Southern California Biomedical Council.
